The Amazing Spiderman
I had an afternoon to spare whilst off work fighting stress and depression, so
I attempted to cheer myself up by going to see "the Amazing Spiderman" in 3D.
Did I succeed?
It wasnt bad - there was certainly a bit of a moral story in there about the
dangers of taking dangerous substances I think, and that "good will
always triumph over prejudice". I couldn't help but wonder how hot he must
have felt with that spandex suit on under his clothes all the time? I also
wondered how the lizard man's arm managed to grow back to a stub once his
potion wore off? There was certainly a wee bit more "feeling"in it than
previous Spiderman films, but I honestly can't remember what was dufferent in
the story to last time - in that respect it was like a Status Quo record. The
special effects weren't really anything out of the ordinary and the 3D wasnt
really noticeable.
Methinks I quibble too much perhaps - it was a good solid bit of escapism, a
good healthy bit of romance and some all round good fun. Without a doubt it
was much better than being in work and a good help in fending off depression.
